At The Shri Ram Academy, we believe that preparing students for the future begins long before university applications.
Our Career Counselling Programme supports students in understanding themselves, exploring possibilities and making informed decisions as their interests, strengths and aspirations evolve.
Career counselling at TSRA is not about finding one “perfect” career or pursuing a particular university.
It is about helping every student discover a pathway that is right for them – aligned with their interests, abilities, values and goals
A Journey That Grows With the Student
Career development is a gradual process, and our programme evolves alongside our students.
Beginning in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) 3, students are encouraged to develop self- awareness, explore interests and strengths, discover diverse career possibilities and connect their leaming with the world beyond school.
As students progress towards the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) or IB Career-related Programme (IBCP), guidance becomes increasingly personalised, supporting academic and subject choices, career exploration, meaningful experiences, higher education planning and preparation for life beyond TSRA.

What We Offer
Our Career Counselling Programme brings together age-appropriate career education, personalised guidance and opportunities for students to explore the world beyond the classroom.
Class room sessions
One-to one conversations provide students with a supportive space to discuss their interests, aspirations, academic choices and future pathways.
Individual Counselling
One-to one conversations provide students with a supportive space to discuss their interests, aspirations, academic choices and future pathways.
Career & University Exposure
Career talks, masterclasses, university interactions, fairs and information sessions introduce students to different disciplines, professions, institutions and higher education systems.
Experiential Learning
Students are encouraged to gain meaningful exposure through research, competitions, Olympiads,
intemships, projects, volunteering and other real-world experiences.
Profile Development
Students are guided to develop meaningful experiences that reflect genuine interests, sustained engagement, growth and reflection.
University & Career Readiness
As students approach their next stage, counselling supports course and university research, application planning, relevant assessments, essays, interviews, scholarships and transition planning.

We believe that a student’s profile should reflect who they are, what they care about and how they have grown.
Rather than encouraging students to accumulate activities simply for an application, we encourage them to pursue opportunities that genuinely interest them and allow them to develop their strengths
Whether through leadership, research, service, entrepreneurship, sport, the arts, internships or other areas of interest, the goal is to help each student build a profile that tells their own story.
IBDP & IBCP
Different Pathways. Individual Destinations.
As TSRA progresses towards offering the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and IB Career-related Programme (IBCP), the Career Counselling Office will support students across both pathways. While the pathways have different structures and areas of focus, both can lead to a wide range of future opportunities.
Our role is not to decide where a student should go.
Our role is to help each student understand the possibilities and find the pathway that best fits their aspirations, strengths and goals.
A Partnership Around Every Student
Career planning is most effective when students, parents, teachers and counsellors work together.
Students are encouraged to take ownership of their future and engage actively in the process. Parents provide encouragement and perspective while allowing students to develop ownership of their choices. Teachers contribute their understanding of students’ strengths, interests and learning experiences.
Together, we create an environment where students can ask questions, explore possibilities and make thoughtful choices with confidence.
